About the Event:

Vaisakhi is one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar. It marks two significant events:

  • The Sikh New Year and the spring harvest festival
  • The founding of the Khalsa (the community of initiated Sikhs) by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699

About the Event:

Join us for a special morning dedicated to honoring all mothers — biological mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, mother figures, and those who have lost a mother. Our meditation session will focus on gratitude, compassion, and the divine feminine energy that nurtures all of creation.

About the Camp:

Our annual Summer Sikh Camp is a highlight of the year for our youth. Through games, crafts, music, and storytelling, children learn about Sikh history, values, and spiritual practices in a fun, engaging environment.

About the Event:

Guru Nanak Gurpurab celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (1469–1539), the founder of Sikhism. It is the most important festival in the Sikh calendar. Devotees gather for 48 hours of continuous prayer, followed by a day of celebration, Kirtan, and Langar.

In celebration of International Yoga & Meditation Day, we are offering a free workshop on Naam Simran – the Sikh practice of meditating on God’s name. No prior meditation experience required. Open to all faiths and backgrounds.

6. BLOOD DONATION CAMP

About the Event:

In partnership with Canadian Blood Services, we host quarterly blood donation camps at our Gurdwara. Donating blood is a form of Seva (selfless service) – giving of your own body to save the life of a stranger.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age: 17–75 years (first-time donors)
  • Weight: Minimum 50 kg (110 lbs)
  • General good health
  • No tattoos or piercings in last 3 months (certain conditions apply)

What to Expect:

  1. Registration (15 minutes)
  2. Health screening (10 minutes)
  3. Blood donation (10–15 minutes)
  4. Rest and refreshments (15 minutes)

Perks:

  • Free juice and snacks after donation
  • Recognition certificate
  • Tax receipt for charitable donation (time value)
